SpellSwipe Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 19, 2026

SpellSwipe ("the app") is a card-browsing app for Magic: The Gathering. This page explains what data the app handles and how.

Data we collect

SpellSwipe does not require an account, does not ask for your name, email, or any other personally identifying information, and does not include ads or third-party analytics SDKs.

Data stored on your device

The app stores the following locally on your device only — it is never sent to us:

This data stays on your device and is removed if you uninstall the app or clear its storage. We have no access to it.

Network requests

To show card information and artwork, SpellSwipe sends requests directly from your device to the Scryfall API (api.scryfall.com), a third-party service that provides Magic: The Gathering card data. These requests include standard technical information (such as your IP address) as part of normal HTTP traffic, handled according to Scryfall's own privacy policy. We do not control or have access to this traffic beyond what the app itself sends.

Notifications

If you enable "new card alerts" in settings, the app periodically checks for newly released sets in the background and may show you a local notification. This check runs entirely on your device; no data about you is transmitted to us as part of it.

Children's privacy

SpellSwipe is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
